Julien Revillon Beaujolais Villages 2017

Beaujolais-Villages AOC

Beaujolais is a forgotten treasure wine region, just south of Burgundy. Winemakers like Julien Révillon, part owner at 14th century Domaine Piron, are righting that wrong with great wines like this. Bright fruit with superb intensity and freshness.

Domaine Piron was founded in the 14th century in the Morgon cru of Beaujolais. Today this is where you will find the majority of their vineyards. In 2013, the owner Dominique Piron joined forces with Julien Révillon, son of a Michelin star chef and fully trained winemaker from the region. Both are determined to remind the world just how great this region and its wines are. They firmly believe that the best can be as good as, or surpass, those of Burgundy. Tasting this 2017, we think you'll agree. All the Gamay grapes are from 100 year old vines from top villages, so the wine has impressive intensity, still with that bright fruit touch, classic to Beaujolais. The wine is pure charm solo; great too with chicken, pâtés or soft cheeses.

"This wine has such great vivacity, fruit and intensity it is going the distance. Lovely maturity" Sarah Everden
