Domaine du Tunnel Saint-Joseph 2021
Saint-Joseph AOP
Wine Advocate's Jeb Dunnock wrote of Stéphane Robert's wines, "today they’re up there with the crème de la crème of the appellation". From a fresher vintage, this red has power and polish, with rich notes of blackberries, herbs and crushed rock.

The Red Wine
Since Stéphane Robert and his wife Sandrine founded their domaine in 1994 they've attracted enormous praise from the likes of Decanter, Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate. The 11-hectare property stretches across three prestigious appellations – Cornas, Saint-Joseph and Saint-Péray – and their wines have become reference points for all three. Stunning complexity, richness, intensity and poise are apparent in every wine. Saint-Joseph is one of the less well-known northern Rhône appellations, producing pure-Syrah reds, just like Hermitage a little to the south. Indeed, Stéphane was an apprentice at Domaine Jean-Louis Grippat – a beacon of quality in both appellations. Aged for 14 months in old oak barrels, this red is complex, layered and long.

"Some of the most impressive, concentrated and unctuously textured Syrahs in the northern Rhône"
