Established in 1859, Domaine Jean Chartron owns 13 hectares of vineyards in Puligny Montrachet and neighbouring villages, including a number of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards such as Chevalier Montrachet. Montmorin is a 3-hectare vineyard in Rully further south. Angus McLean from our Fine Wine team recalls a few years back: “I knew we were in for a good tasting when this wine – the first we tasted and the cheapest in the line up – was showing so well. The weight and texture are impressive, as is the wine’s overall balance. It has a lot of class.” Fermented in stainless steel and aged in well seasoned barrels, this fine Rully focuses on its pretty, ripe stone fruit and creaminess. Serve cool with roast chicken or sauced fish dishes.
