The aptly named Domaine Isabelle Ferrando is owned by Isabelle and the Ferrando family. As Jeff Leve, in The Wine Insider, wrote “since their debut vintage in 2004, they have been on fire”. Isabelle never meant to be a winemaker. Her career was first in banking, but wine drew her back and she learnt her phenomenal skill first in Gigondas at the renowned Raspail Ay winery. Having already invested in Domaine Saint Préfert, also in Châteauneuf, she bought another 3.9 hectares in the south of the appellation in 2004 and brought in Philippe Cambie as consultant to ensure the wine highlighted its distinctive terroir. The wine is 100% Grenache, from vines between 65 to over 100 years old, from three different vineyards, one named Colombis and aged in seasoned oak so the wine is all about fruit.

"Famille Isabel Ferrando is one of the newer, really hot properties in Châteauneuf-du-Pape" Jeff Leve
