Critic Jancis Robinson declared 2018 "an exceptional year for Bordeaux wines." Château Cantelaude Borie is also ample proof that, if you look in the right places, there’s also superb value. A stunning Moulis-en-Médoc punching miles above its price.

Lovers of the finest Bordeaux will instantly recognise the striking orange on Château Cantelaude-Borie’s label. It’s shared by its sister property, £120+ per bottle Château Ducru Beaucaillou. That’s not all the two châteaux share, either. Both wines are made from start to finish by Bruno Borie – Château Cantelaude Borie is his new labour of love. Safe to say it’s impressing already. Indeed our Fine Wine Team was so struck by the quality and value on offer here that they didn’t take a single other Moulis from the 2018 vintage. This one left the competition standing! Sleek, in the style of Ducru, and boasting a lifted perfume of red fruit, it has luscious, ripe blackberry and cassis richness. Fine Bordeaux fans are advised to stock up.
