Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy's most prominent names, not only in its home of Vosne-Romanée, but right across the region. However, that wasn't always the case. Incredibly, until 1988 most of the domaine’s holdings were leased out to other vignerons and the wine was sold off to négociants in bulk! Not so today. Since 1989 it has been run by Jean-Nicolas Méo and Christian Faurois and has just over 2.5 hectares of Grands Crus and 8 hectares of some of the finest Premier Cru sites of Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. Most of the vineyards are farmed organically, grapes are sorted at the winery and the wines are matured in barrel. This classic Morey has superb intensity and ripe cherry depth, with hints of anise and pepper. Will cellar.
