Robert Parker sums it up: “Courbis is a name to watch in the Northern Rhone", "an immaculate estate". The domaine dates back to the 16th century and brothers Dominique and Laurent Courbis combine today a long family tradition with a youthful energy and modern style. The result has been international recognition and some truly outstanding wines. Indeed, their wines are considered some of the most compelling examples of St Joseph and Cornas today. This pure Syrah red from the excellent 2020 vintage shows off their terrific winemaking skills. Intense herbal black fruit, pepper and granite notes, with great structure and length. Will cellar exceptionally well. Tops with lamb or moussaka lentil bake, but open early and decant, or stash away.

"A treasure trove of quality wines, which can generally be found at reasonable prices" Jeb Dunnock
