The Story Behind the Bottle
Nemea is one of Greece's most important regions for red wine. It's main star is the Agiorgitiko grape, which thrives on the mineral-rich, red clay soils which help bring out complexity and freshness in a wine. Revel here in the bright red fruits tempered by subtle vanilla spice from ageing in part new French oak barrels - a wine with a great balance of deep fruit, oak and rounded tannins. Its name comes from an ancient Greek convention of bringing together 14 or 27 people to discuss an idea. A region rich in history, Nemea is where Heracles slay the Nemean lion as part of his 12 Labours. Myths aside, top winemaker Pavlos Argyropoulos has crafted this appealing red. Sure proof that Greek winemaking is in top form. Souvlaki here we come!
