From 5-Star Penny Hill’s winery and a winemaker with 10 Trophies to her name, this is an impressive red. The classic Aussie combo of Shiraz and Cabernet, aged in oak, it’s a lush compote of dark bramble fruit and cassis with a rich seam of oak.

Winner in 2016 of Mundus Vini's prestigious ‘Best Australian Red’ Trophy and with 14 other Trophies since its launch in 1988, Penny’s Hill is a star performer in the McLaren Vale. Tony and Susie Parkinson are the founders, buying a bare slope of 32 hectares that they planted with vines. They appointed Alexia Roberts as winemaker, and have been phenomenally successful. They firmly believe in the supreme quality of the ocean cooled McLaren Vale region, with its layers of ancient soils that date back 2.6 million years! 2010 saw completion of a detailed geological map of this area and Dirtyrich is a celebration of these precious soils that lend so much to a wine. Dense, chocolatey, black berry Shiraz and Cab, all barrel aged for complexity.
