The Spirit
The Temperley family arrived at Burrow Hill in Somerset in the 1960s and set about restoring the ancient orchards that surround the farm. This is where their ancestors had been making cider for nearly 300 years in the village of Kingsbury Escopi. England has three premium vintage cider apple areas – one of those is Burrow Hill where the farm is situated, the soil and climate of which produces superior quality. In 1989 they were awarded the UK’s first cider distilling licence, since when they have used half their cider to distill into their fine apple brandy. Kingston Black Apple aperitif is a blend of Kingston Black apple juice and their fine apple brandy, described as “an exquisite product of the highest order” by the Great Taste Awards.
