The Chavarri family are renowned for both the class and value of their delicious, long-aged Riojas. This is their fine Reserva from a very good vintage, now with six years’ maturity. Gentle, silky, strawberry fruit woven with vanilla oak complexity.

The Wine
Everyone loves good Rioja. Now take a step up to Reserva level. This is from the 2017 vintage, officially regarded as 'very good'. A year's ageing in barrel and two in bottle have produced a Rioja of perfect balance and depth. Pagos de Tahola comes from the Chavarri family – Francisco and daughter Ruth form a winning partnership with winemaker Miguel Lopez Nuñez. Their exemplary wines are based on intensely flavoured grapes harvested from mature vines in some of Rioja’s highest vineyards, then infused with the signature fragrance of quality French and US oak. Rich aromas of dried berries and vanilla, red berry and sweet spice flavours and a silky texture. Serve with Spanish style rice dishes, roast chicken or grilled meat.
