The Wine
Both Dr John and his wife Dr Brigid Forrest started their careers in science – the latter studying neurophysiology and molecular biology, while Brigid trained as a GP. In the late 1980s, they decided to start a pioneer winery in Marlborough. Their first ever vintage was in 1990 – a Merlot rosé, which “accidentally” won a Trophy. They’ve been at the forefront of innovation from the start, crafting award-winning wines and now their daughter, Beth, is head winemaker. The 2022 Chenin is deliciously crisp, full-bodied with racy freshness. It brims with green apple, citrus and lemon curd flavours, and is aged on lees for extra creamy roundness.
