Domaine Jacky Marteau Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2021
Touraine AOC

The Loire's Touraine lies next door to prized and rather pricey Sancerre. Both specialise in Sauvignon Blanc, but at Domaine Jacky Marteau you get a lot more wine for your money. From a great vintage, this is a brilliantly fresh, citrusy white.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
With the ravishing, fresh Sauvignons made in Touraine, it's surprising that this appellation isn't better known. It's situated next door to the Loire's Central Vineyards which includes renowned Sancerre and Pouily-Fumé. Touraine Sauvignons, however, tend to be much better value. Domaine Jacky Marteau is a fourth-generation estate founded by Gérard Delaunay, the current owners' maternal great grandfather. Passed down the line, it has been run since 2010 by Rodolphe Marteau and his sister Ludivine. Their vineyards on the left bank of the river Cher are ideal for Sauvignon. Picked at peak maturity and cool fermented in stainless-steel vats, the wine has lovely ripe fruit with super-charged freshness. A classic with seafood or goat's cheese.
