The Wine
The Colin family have nurtured the vineyards of Domaine de la Colline for four generations, growing the classic grape varieties of the Loire Valley, including Chenin Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. This ultra fresh 2016, however, is pure Sauvignon Blanc, the variety responsible for Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé and the star of the Touraine region. Our specialist Loire Buyer Hilario Ribeiro selected this medal winner after a comprehensive tour of the region and tasting of this impressive vintage. The wine has intense grassy and honeysuckle aromas with crisp, dry, citrus freshness. Winemaker Raphaël Boileau enjoys it with local cheeses such as Crottin de Chavignol, white fish or steamed asparagus with a knob of beurre d’Isigny.
