It's from Querciabella, a world-renowned family winery in Italy’s premium Chianti Classico region, founded in 1974 with one hectare and today boasts 100. This award-winning cellar was one of the first to convert to organic practices in the 1980s and is now also biodynamic. Not only that, it is regarded as one of Tuscany's most innovative wineries. Their fabulous Super Tuscans are "highly sought-after" (Decanter), while JancisRobinson.com talks of "a string of beautiful wines made from international varieties". Their top Super Tuscans fetch £135 a bottle. This is a glorious, barrel-matured blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet. Ideal with juicy meats or rich pasta.
