Albert Bichot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers 2013
Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru AOC
Loading...
The vineyard called Les Sentiers lies at the Morey Saint Denis end of Chambolle Musigny and, as demonstrated by this cuvée, it tends to have a far spicier edge and firmer tannins than some. Enjoy this very pretty 2013 now or cellar mid term.

The Wine
Albert Bichot are a family owned négociant house dating from 1831. With around 100 hectares of vines up and down the region, they are one of the bigger players in Burgundy. In charge is Albéric Bichot, former ‘Winemaker of the Year’ at the International Wine Challenge. Unusually for Burgundy, Pinot Noir fans find themselves on especially safe ground with this Premier Cru because, as Hugh Johnson points out, “any Chambolle Musigny is likely to be very good” (The World Atlas of Wine). You will certainly not be disappointed by Bichot’s charming 2013. Despite a cold start to the vintage, a warm autumn saved the day and the wine is very well structured. Decant an hour in advance and serve in large glasses with feathered game or mushroom risotto.
