Named after a naval genius who helped secure Chile’s independence from Spain, this a luscious red with velvet, spice tinged fruit. It's from four time Chilean ‘Winery of the Year’ LFE and is pure Carmenère – the Bordeaux grape turned Chilean hero.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Wine
Chile’s Central Valley is famed for ripe Bordeaux style reds. This velvety Carmenère (a grape once common in Bordeaux) hails from the renowned Luis Felipe Edwards estate, a top family winery that leads the way in higher vineyard plantings with impressive results. The wine takes its name from a legendary Scottish naval commander, Admiral Thomas Cochrane (aka ‘the Sea Wolf’) who built a fearless reputation in the Napoleonic Wars before leading the Chilean Navy. His swashbuckling style was the inspiration for C.S. Forester’s Horatio Hornblower and helped defeat the Spanish and secure Chilean independence. This tasty, moreish wine, bursting with bold character is a fitting tribute. Rich with plum and spice notes. Perfect with red meat dishes.
