The Wine
In 1895, Italian oenologist Federico Martinotti, from the Province of Asti, invented the world-famous method of controlled fermentation in large vats to create sparkling wines. Acquesi, founded in nearby Acqui Terme, is an award-winning winery making top-class sparkling using this method – commonly known as the charmat method. The bouquet is complex with orange blossom, peach, honey and citrus aromas. It’s fresh with a gentle sparkle and with a sweet, lingering finish. And at only 7% abv, it’s a great anytime wine. Delicious with spicy Asian foods or a fruit tart dessert.
