Château La Garde Blanc 2020

Graves AOC

A serious, well-structured white Bordeaux from the Graves' Pessac Léognan, a 2020 that critic Jeff Leve described as "a bright, energetic blast of citrus and spice". With just 12% new oak, it has lovely ripe stone fruits and taut citrus intensity.

Dating back to the 18th century, this is a fine, rising-star Graves property in the prized Pessac-Léognan. It has been nurturing grapes since the 19th century and been under the ownership of the dynamic négociant, Dourthe, since 1990. They have invested liberally in both the vineyard and the cellar, and this is now bearing dividends. The estate has 53 hectares of superb terroir for its vineyards, 50 of those growing red grapes, a modest three cultivating white varieties. The Sauvignon Blanc is all planted on pure limestone soils, which lend a real minerality to the wine. This 2020 has been praised by critics. James Suckling described it as having, "a lovely, solid core of fruit and a flavorful finish". Enjoy over the next few years.

"A creamy white with lots of dried lemon, apple and a stone undertone. A flavorful finish" James Suckling
