Make the perfect … Martini

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Gin
  • ¼ to 1 part dry Vermouth
  • Ice
  • Lemon peel to garnish

Equipment:

  • Mixing Glass
  • Julep strainer
  • Bar spoon
  • Jigger

Method:

Add all the ingredients to the mixing glass. Add ice and stir until chilled (around 20 seconds). Use the strainer to pour into Martini glass. Lemon peel to garnish.

Make the perfect … Tom Collins

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Gin
  • 1 part freshly squeeze lemon juice
  • ½ simple syrup
  • Soda Water (~2 parts)
  • Ice
  • Orange wheel and cherry to garnish

Equipment:

  • 2-piece shaker
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Jigger
  • Highball/Collins glass

Method:

Add Gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to the shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled (around 8-12 seconds). Strain over ice into a highball/Collins glass. Top with soda water and garnish with an Orange wheel and cherry.

Make the perfect … Gin and Tonic

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Gin
  • 3-4 parts tonic
  • Lime wedge to garnish

Equipment:

  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Highball/Collins glass

Method:

Add all ingredients to a Highball/Collins glass pre-filled to the top with ice. Squeeze in desired number of lime wedges – I suggest 4. Stir gently. Serve.

Make the perfect … New York Sour

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Bourbon or Rye Whiskey
  • 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Large ice
  • ½ - 1 part Red wine

Equipment:

  • 2 piece shaker
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Bar spoon
  • Rocks glass

Method:

Add Whiskey, lemon juice and simple syrup to the shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled (around 8-12 seconds). Strain over a cube or 2 of large ice into a rocks glass. Slowly pour red wine over the back of a bar spoon on top of the drink. Wait a few seconds for the wine to trickle down before serving. Enjoy.
