Burgundy 2012
Mother nature, by dealing out bad weather in the first half of the growing season and good weather in the second, ensured that Burgundy's 2012 vintage is a small, but high quality one. Our offer comprises many of our regular customers' old favourite Domaines, plus a number of new producers whose wines stood out when we visited the region in November.
While the range is comprehensive, the nature of Burgundy, especially in this vintage, means that quantities are low and that the wines will start disappearing quickly, so do take the chance to stock up on the 2012s while you can!
Burgundy 2012 Vintage View
What a surprise 2012 has been, what an utterly topsy turvy year this is! It's very challenging for me to explain to you succinctly how this vintage is so good despite how difficult the conditions were for the vignerons. Let me assure you of one thing, this is a lovely Burgundy vintage and certainly the most enjoyable and easiest wines to taste at this stage than any other of the visits I have made to the region.
...in the end - quality-wise - 2012 has turned out, not merely 'all right', but really very good indeed, if not perhaps even very fine. I have already heard the wines referred to as 'classic'. There are some who regard the potential of 2012 reds as superior to anything recent, and that includes 2010, 2009, 2005 and other years. Clive Coates on Burgundy 2012 www.clive-coates.com
Our top recommendations from Burgundy 2012
Domaine Antoine Jobard, Meursault
The 2012s were even a step up from the brilliant 2011s that were my first experience of this estate, showing greater generosity of fruit, but lacking none of the hallmark laser-like precision and focus.

Benjamin Leroux is my other tip to become a winemaking legend in Burgundy. Some may say he already is having been the General Manager of Domaine Comte Armand despite still being in his 30s, so he's got so much more potential.

In 2012 though I thought it was superior to the more fashionable Les St Georges and Vaucrains. I was not the only one with it being awarded the highest score from the Domaine by Neal Martin too.
