Apothicaire is the 'Grand Cru' of Armagnacs, with amazing length and complexity after 37 years in barrel. It's a rare pure Baco cuvée, long aged in cask, then finished in Château La Clarière barrels. Hints of red berry mingle with the mellow notes.

More information
Bas-Armagnac in southwest France is the most westerly subregion of the appellation and, with its sandy loamy soils, produces nearly all its finest eaux de vie. Apothicaire is a rare cuvée of pure Baco – the grape that provides the structure and fruit finesse. After a single continuous distillation, the spirit was matured in barrels for a remarkable 37 years, forgotten probably and only sold by the small farmer producer, when he had a big bill to pay. A new tractor or a wedding, perhaps. That’s how it works in this forgotten corner of France. Aged finally for a few months in former La Clarière barrels, it's complex, mellow and long. Beautifully presented in 50cl bottles, Apothicaire is a spirit to savour quietly at the end of the day.
