The magician behind The Escapist is one of South Africa’s best kept secrets. His stellar 20-year career has seen him work for a range of rock-star winemaker clients, as well as 12 years with this top-rate family estate. He has access to some of the very best vineyards in the Western Cape, a luxury which allowed him to conjure up this breath-taking Sauvignon Blanc. Intense tropical notes are lifted by a citrus zing thanks to specially selected parcels. These Atlantic-cooled sites ripen grapes to perfection under the bright Cape sun, whilst locking in freshness. This is what we call a proper seafood Sauvignon. The kind of cut-grass-scented, flavoursome treat that begs to be sipped from an ice-cool glass. A delicious solo-sipper too.
