More information
Priorat in NE Spain is a tiny wine region, boasting just 2,010 hectares vines (compare that to Rioja’s 65,000). However, its reputation is huge! In the World Atlas of Wine, Jancis Robinson MW wrote, “This tiny wine region is producing some of Spain’s most exciting, and most expensive, wine … ridiculously low yields.” With limited vineyards, its fine wines are snapped up in a moment. All the more exciting then that our Buyer, Sarah, managed to snap up this superb, one-off parcel from one of the most awarded wineries in the region. The reason? A cancelled order. This is a fabulous, rich red – a blend of dark, swarthy Garnacha, rare Samsó, Syrah and Merlot, aged for 8 months in French and American oak. Open early and decant, or cellar.
