More information
Stone Trail vineyard was planted in 1982 and is one of very few Certified Old Vine Chenin Blanc vineyards in Franschhoek. It lies high at 380 metres altitude and the stones on the trail, worn smooth over the years, tells of the dedicated farm hands that have tended the vines that lie isolated among the fynbos and forest of the area. In 2018, Tim Atkin MW awarded this terrific white 93 points. All handpicked, the wine was matured in seasoned French oak barrels to add depth to the wine, rather than detract from the delicious fruit. Ageing on lees, with regular stirring, adds to the body and creaminess of this wine, coupled with a core of mineral freshness thanks to its cooler climate. Chill and enjoy solo or with chicken or spicy Thai dishes.
