Maison Dominique Piron Fleurie 2022

Fleurie AOC

A luscious, fruit-filled, seductively silky Beaujolais Cru. This is top-vintage Fleurie (a year of great quality but low yields due to hail and drought) from Dominique Piron’s 14th-generation estate. Relish the plush cherry and blackberry fruit.

Fleurie is the queen of Beaujolais – full of charming, silky fruit and lifted floral scents. And today, Beaujolais and its wonderful wines are back on trend. Tasting this pretty, fruit-filled 2022, you’ll understand why. It’s from Dominique Piron, whose estate was founded way back, during the reign of Louis XIII. Today it has 95 hectares of vines throughout Beaujolais’ finest villages, a third of them in Morgon. Dominique is the 14th generation and, with no family of his own, he joined up with long-standing friend Julien Revillon. Together they have a vision to produce Beaujolais as fine as any Grand Cru Burgundy and go to great lengths to achieve that. From their steep, 50-year-old Fleurie vineyard, the wine is silky and joyfully fruity.
