Award-winning Cantina Valpolicella Negrar works closely with small local growers, encouraging the highest standards in the vineyard – both for the benefit of the environment and, importantly, for the quality of the grapes. Made from Valpolicella’s classic varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone, selected from ‘cru’ vineyards, the wine is named after the wires (La Tirela) along which the vines are trellised for maximum sun exposure. Star winemaker and oenologist Daniele Accordini slowly fermented the partially dried grapes to capture their complex, spiced berry aromas and ripe cherry, plum and raspberry flavours. Rich and full bodied, La Tirela would traditionally be served with game, grilled and braised meats or risotto all’Amarone.
