Domaine Piron is a superb 14th-generation property, today run by Dominique Piron and his good friend and winemaker, Julian Revillon. Together they want to show that the finest Beaujolais can match up to Burgundy greats. And that's for whites, as well as its reds! This delightful, creamy fresh white is made in a Mâcon-Villages style, which is no big surprise when that region lies right next door. Very little Chardonnay is grown in Beaujolais - it's Gamay territory, and whites only account for 2% of production – but this charming, bright white shows what a star it can be. Cool fermented, then aged on its lees, partly in oak, the wine has roundness balancing its floral and mineral charm. Enjoy this white solo or with creamy noodles or seafood.
