Established in 1859, Domaine Jean Chartron owns 13 hectares of vineyards in prized Puligny-Montrachet and neighbouring villages, including a number of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards such as Chevalier-Montrachet. Montmorin is a 3-hectare plot in Rully further south in the Côte Châlonnaise, a region known for its impressive value. Critic William Kelley calls this estate, "an excellent source of pure and precise Puligny that deserves more recognition”. Rully is also a star – a delicious white for earlier drinking from 2022, a year described by Neal Martin as “a treasure trove of bright ‘n bushy-tailed whites.” Fermented in barrel, just 10% of those new, it has pretty ripe stone fruit, floral notes and creaminess. Serve cool with fine seafood.
