Bassist in top Britpop band Blur, Alex James had a passion for food and wanted to make a difference. He moved to a farmhouse in the Cotswolds and began to make artisan cheeses. Then, delicious local tipples – first Britpop cider and now this exceptional English sparkling wine. He's joined forces with the award-winning Furleigh Estate and former UK Winemaker of the Year Ian Edwards and the outcome is Britpop Brut. It's a classic blend of Champagne grapes – 40% each of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, plus Pinot Meunier – all grown on chalky soils on the Jurassic coast. Aged on lees, with the secondary fermentation in bottle, just like Champagne, it has floral, peach notes and a nutty, biscuity complexity. Just the ticket for fun and celebration.
