The Zuccardi family’s estate was founded in 1963 by Alberto, the grandfather of today’s superstar winemaker Sebastián. The winery is an angular, almost brutalist structure, designed as a tribute to the austerity of the landscape it complements. Constructed with utmost respect to the grape, the cellar is fully gravity fed. You won’t find any stainless steel here – all the tanks are concrete – hence this wine’s unusual name. It’s even aged in concrete vats to preserve the fruit purity and structure of the Malbec. “This is a unique wine for Mendoza with a cool-fruit and serious slate character," said James Suckling, while Wine Advocate called it "an incredible value" . Will age superbly. Delicious with a tender steak or vegetarian enchiladas.
