More information
Not only does Yering Station have 5 Red Stars - Halliday's top rating – 12 of its wines received over 90 points in the 2020 publication. This outstanding estate was founded in 1838 by the pioneering Ryrie brothers. A new era of winemaking started in 1996 when the Rathbone family took ownership. Today, it's regarded as one of the finest properties of Victoria's Yarra Valley. The team is headed up by Darren Rathbone, who studied at UC Davis in California and has made wine in some of the greatest wine regions – Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and Napa. He is now firmly based in the Yarra Valley, assisted by Willy Lunn, who learnt with the great Brian Croser. Aged in French oak casks, part new, this fine Pinot is a cracker with panfried duck.
