Crafted from the classic Champagne grapes, this fine 2015 English pink sparkler has been created by Barbara Laithwaite and her winemaker son Henry. On its first release, the 2014, it won four Golds. It owes its underlying citrusy grip, elegant summer fruit, patisserie flavours and creamy mousse to Barbara’s meticulous care in the vineyard, Henry’s winemaking skills, and the high, cool vineyard site in the Chiltern Hills, just west of Henley-on-Thames. Wyfold Brut’s signature style of underlying vivid minerality is drawn up through the dense Thames Terrace gravels from the deep Paris Basin chalk bedrock below. Disgorged in early 2019, this fine Brut Rosé 2015 is the perfect sparkling wine to celebrate the first 50 years of Laithwaite’s!
