Wine Advocate called Warre 2016 "gloriously expressive and concentrated", while Suckling was impressed by its "full-bodied, very layered and tightly wound" character. Certainly a port that will age well, from one of the greatest names in the Douro.

Warre’s is one of the most respected names in port. Dating back to 1670, the estate has been under British ownership longer than any other port house. Its reputation has been further enhanced by the current owners, the renowned Symingtons who, according to William Warre MW, of the original family (and still very much involved in the running of it), have given it "the attention it needs". This fine 2016 port is largely a field blend of grapes (the old vineyards are planted with a mix of varieties and all picked in one sweep), backed up by portions of pure Touriga Nacional and Franca from Quintas da Cavahinha, do Retiro and da Telhada in different subregions. It's a very fine vintage, with richness, structure and elegance. Will age with grace
