Farnese won the title of ‘Winery of the Year’ three times in a row and is one of the finest cellars in Abruzzo. Its popularity rests on a long list of awards and glowing reviews from the likes of Robert Parker, Decanter and Wine Spectator. The man responsible is winemaker Filippo Baccalaro. We’ve worked with him for well over 20 years now and each vintage he gives us the first taste of his new wines. Pecorino is one of dozens of fascinating, yet little known indigenous Italian white grapes now gaining attention in the UK. With all the refreshment of Pinot Grigio, it has extra flavour and elegance, with a lovely apricot intensity, citrus freshness and herby hints. Ideal served with seafood, just as it is in Abruzzo’s coastal resorts.
