Trinity Hill is one of New Zealand’s leading wine estates. It was established after a chance meeting of Robert and Robyn Wilson, owners of London restaurant Bleeding Heart, with experienced winemaker John Hancock. Convinced they could together make world class reds in Hawke’s Bay’s Gimblett Gravels sub-region, they started planting in 1993 and expanded further in 2000. Even with their first release 1997 vintage they won Trophies. Today they have a worldwide reputation for an amazing array of grape varieties and styles – from Bordeaux type reds to this lavish Rhône style white. Fermented and aged on its lees in barrel, then aged for 14 months, the wine went through ‘malo’ to gain even more weight and roundness. Recommended with spicy Thai.
