Founded in 1883, Trapiche is one of Argentina’s leading wineries. Its many accolades include twice winning ‘Argentine Wine Producer of the Year’ at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. Every year, Daniel Pi, one of the most capable and knowledgeable winemakers in Argentina, chooses the three best Malbecs from a collection of 90 separate vineyards for their premium Single Vineyard range. The grapes for the Finca Orellana come from a magnificent, 70 year old, high altitude, slow ripening vineyard. They were hand harvested, vinified in small open fermenters and matured for 18 months in new French oak. Silky, elegant, with violet hints, black fruit and complex, integrated oak, this is a wine to serve with beef Wellington or roast lamb.
