Maison des Bulliats Cuvée Hélène Régnié 2017

Regnie AOC

Beaujolais newest cru Régnié is also the least well known, and exceedingly well priced because of it. Aromatic yet savoury, with gorgeously silky summer berry fruit, this 5-Star red is a real charmer, with added intensity thanks to old vine fruit.

Maison des Bulliats is nestled in the picturesque region of Régnié – home to some fantastic and often overlooked Beaujolais. Since 2005, the property has been owned by Fred and Helen Lockwood. The couple met in London, where Fred, a Canadian, was a Professor of Engineering while Helen taught at the University of the Arts. They fell in love with France and the Beaujolais region many years ago, and now they’ve embarked on the enormous challenge of creating exceptional Beaujolais. This special Cuvée Hélène is testament to their dedication. Made with the hand-picked fruit of rare old vines up to 50 years of age, this is a treasure – and Helen’s favourite – hence its name! Serve cool and enjoy with grilled chicken, charcuterie or soft cheeses.
