Beyond the Label
Layered notes of citrus, stone fruits, buttery croissants and vanilla
Exotic nose, white flower, citrus peel, nectarine and vanilla
Australia’s Mornington Peninsula is where cool-climate wines are crafted within fascinating wineries, such as Ten Minutes by Tractor. This highly acclaimed winery was awarded 5 Red Stars – James Halliday’s top ranking. It began in 1997 by the forming of three family-owned vineyards in Main Ridge, all 10 minutes apart by tractor! The Chardonnay for this white was selected from the estate’s vineyards in Main Ridge – one of the highest, coolest parts of Mornington Peninsula. The bright fruit was fermented in French oak barrels with wild yeast, bringing layers of complexity to the taut citrus fruit. A further 9 months ageing in barrels (17% new) added hints of toasty vanilla. It’s a sophisticated, mouthwatering white, ideal with rich risottos.
"A sleek, glossy and attractive chardonnay with plenty of melon and pears, crisp, dry and elegant"
