For many, Taylor's is the benchmark of all port houses, described by US critic Robert Parker as "the Latour of Portugal”. Established over three centuries ago in 1692, Taylor’s is one of the oldest houses in the Douro and proud to have been the originators of the Late Bottled Vintage style (LBV). These are the most popular premium ports, partly because with LBV all the patient ageing is done for you. Vintage port is bottled after a year in barrel, and left to mature in bottle, while LBV, as the name suggests, is bottled later, spending up to 6 years in cask. You’re presented with a table-ready, premium port with no sediment to worry about. The 2016 brims with intense black woodland fruit and a sweet balsamic edge. Pair with strong cheeses.

"Lovely sweetness and a lightly chewy and grippy ending that turns sweet and slightly dry. Delicious" James Suckling
