Chat with Vinny
Sauternes is the world’s most celebrated dessert wine and Doisy Védrines is one of the best. It is next door to Premiers Crus Châteaux Climens and Coutet – lesser known, it’s therefore terrific value. Wine Advocate awards the 2015 93–95 points.
Tasting notes

More information
A heavenly nectar that rates as one of the world’s finest dessert wines! Château Doisy Védrines has been in the Castéja family since 1840. Today Pierre Castéja maintains exceptionally high standards and will declassify a whole vintage if he believes the wines are simply not up to scratch. Batches of grapes are fermented separately in oak barrels and then left to mature. After a year, each vat is tested to see if it is worthy of inclusion in the Grand Vin. 2015 was an excellent vintage with weather in October perfect for encouraging botrytis, the condition essential for concentrating sweetness and flavour. Enjoy with fruity summer puddings such as strawberry tart with crème anglaise, or, as is traditional, with blue cheeses or foie gras.
