Hear 'Napa Valley' and your first thought might well be 'Cabernet Sauvignon'. It's the region's most widely-planted grape and the basis of its world-class wine status. But, thanks to a movement among innovative winemakers, we're seeing the rise of 'Napa's other Sauvignon'. Quality-conscious wineries from this corner of the Golden State are today producing some truly excellent examples of Sauvignon Blanc. None more so than this stunning find. Sourced from top hillside plots (hence the name), Rolling Valley is a luscious white that delivers a lovely mouthfilling weight. It's also slightly aged, which is unusual for a Sauvgnon but works so perfectly here. Best enjoyed anytime, but we love it with tomato linguini or a spicy noodle dish.

"Perfect balance, excellent vintage, slight ageing, and a first-class wine region – this has it all" Clare Tooley
