The Reichsrat Von Buhl estate has been a family-owned business for over 150 years and has ranked among the most prestigious estates in Germany ever since. Founded in 1849 and very soon made a significant name for itself well beyond the borders of Germany. It has been the recipient of some of the top awards at international wine exhibitions in Paris and Brussels. The estate is managed with one goal in mid and that is creating the best conditions for the production of top quality wines and they have recently invested heavily in new cellar facilities and modernized vineyard operations. This has resulted in further international success reminiscent of glorious days gone by. Due to the small amount of botrytis present in this vintage very little beerenauslese was produced. Instead much of the crop that would have the level of ripeness needed was classified as Auslese this has meant an incredibly concentrated wine.Light honeyed fruit dominates the notes, notes of passion fruit, mango and a touch of honeysuckle. On the palate an incredible concentration of fruit flavours, again passion fruit dominates with mango and some ripe lime. A lovely refreshing acidity keeps this wine fresh and far from cloying. This is a perfect desert wine to refresh the palate after a meal, it would also go well with creamy blue cheese.
