Château Bibian is one of the oldest and most renowned properties within Listrac. It takes its name from Pierre Bibian, who bought it in 1857. In 1999 Alain Meyre and his two children took it over and have breathed a new lease of life into the property. It boasts 20 hectares of vines, between 40 to 70 years old, which accounts for the wine’s intensity and depth of flavour. Tannins tend to be firm, so the wine takes a while to open up, hence it is only now released. Awarded 90 points by James Suckling and a Silver in Paris, the 2014 has classic Bordeaux character, with firm chocolaty tannins supporting dark berry character and smoky spice. Open early and decant, then enjoy with classic roast meat dishes or a rich, herby casserole.

"Rich nose with some vanilla oak character, then a big tannic mouthful. Juicy fruit" James Suckling
