Purple Duck Pinot Noir 2021

New South Wales

He’s brought you the Black Duck, White Duck, then the Pink Duck. Now meet Purple Duck, the newest addition to the flock. Crafted by Sam Trimboli at his own cellar, it’s a terrific, oak-aged Pinot Noir. Gorgeously fresh, bright red fruits.

Since the launch of the first Yarrunga Field, Sam Trimboli has been delighting customers with his fabulous wines and winning awards. They don't call him 'Mr Medals' for nothing! Only in the last four years has he set up his own family winery and, in our opinion, is producing even better wines. He has made us the dark, spicy Black Duck from Durif, the White Chardie Pinot Grigio Duck, and a cheeky Pink one, but this is his first, very delicious, Pinot Noir – Purple Duck. The grapes in this silky, lightly oaked red come from vineyards that neighbour the famous vines of JJ McWilliams, whose own Pinot goes for an eye-watering £127. Sam’s is much easier on the pocket, and we like to think, just as delicious. Enjoy fresh red fruits and soft cedar.

"Each year Sam manages to win the hearts of critics and customers alike, and here's his new creation" Daniel Parrott
