Comté Tolosan is an ancient wine-producing region within South West France. The Romans were the first to discover its potential. They liked the hilly aspect, planted vines, and made some of their finest wines here. A few centuries ago, wines from Comté Tolosan were more highly rated than those of Bordeaux. Named after the 12th-century building housing the town hall of Toulouse, close to the cellar, this is a tasty Cabernet with lovely depth and fruit power made by US winemaker Nicole McPheeters. From Arizona, she’s worked all over the world, including Australia, Chile and Bordeaux. Nicole brings a New World touch to the fruit in this very appealing Cabernet, with its final flourish of oak. Particularly good with grilled meats or pasta bake.
