Portinho do Côvo Branco 2019

Vinho Regional Península de Setúbal

This terrifically refreshing, crisp white is great value too. Two reasons we love to champion wines from Portugal. It’s made by a top winemaker from two native grapes – Verdelho and Fernão Pires – to make it dazzling, fragrant and citrus fresh.

Prepare to be thrilled by this modern Portuguese white. It has a wonderful array of crisp flavours thanks to a unique blend of grapes and meticulous winemaking. Portinho do Côvo is made by multiple award winning Jaime Quendera using the native grapes of Verdelho and Fernão Pires. Together they lend brilliant lemony intensity with a hint of spice. The vines grow close to the coast, just off which lies the little island of Pessegueiro. There, legend has it, Cupid exiled three mermaids. Mermaids aside, the coastal region is great for vines and assures a long, slow ripening and freshness and lifted aromas in the wines. Seafood features prominently on the local menu and you’ll find Portinho is ideal with prawns, white fish or salads.
