South of Lisbon on Portugal's Atlantic coast, the Setúbal Peninsula is most famous for its rolling Atlantic waves, but also for its long lived fortified dessert wines. However, the sunny climate, tempered by cooling ocean breezes, is additionally proving itself with bold, fruit forward reds. Parker rated winemaker Jaime Quendera adores the region and is 100% dedicated to what he does. He says “I love being able to create, blend and shape my wines – I work long days to produce the best wine possible.” Indeed, in 2008 one of Jaime’s creations was awarded ‘Best Red Wine in the World’. This 2016 is a sumptuous blend of native variety Touriga Nacional and Alicante plus a dash of Syrah. Delicious with pork and chorizo casserole or chicken dishes.

"Good things do come in small packages – these 250ml bottles are incredibly handy" Jehan Sacaze
