Plantation Pineapple (70cl) NV

Barbados

To give this its full name, Plantation Pineapple Rum Stiggins’ Fancy was inspired by a character in Dickens’ Pickwick Papers. Pineapple rum was a delicacy in 19th century Britain and this delightful drop is Plantation’s take on a traditional tipple.

Here’s a uniquely tasty tot that’s sure to be on the ‘must try’ list of rum lovers everywhere. It’s from the cellars of Alexandre Gabriel, owner of Maison Ferrand in Cognac, and an enthusiastic advocate of Cognac and rum. Having discovered pineapple rum, and that it was a favourite tipple of Dickens’ character Reverend Stiggins, he set about creating his own. He infused pineapple rinds in Plantation 3 Stars White Rum for a week, before distilling the liquid in pot stills. The fruit of the pineapple was infused in Plantation Original Dark Rum for three months. He then treated a blend of the two liquids to three months in oak. The result is rum smooth, fruity and more than a little moreish. It’s great served neat, with or without an ice cube.
