Budburst Pinot Grigio 2019

Cimislia

A deliciously appetising Pinot Grigio, not from Italy but from the ancient vineyards of Moldova. This forgotten wine country has made fine wines for centuries. This is an ultra modern take on the grape – pear and apple fruit with zingy freshness.

There are many Pinot Grigio fans, so our Buyers always keep a sharp lookout for a new star. This is a top buy from Moldova, a country that once supplied wine to the Russian Tsars. Now the pick of the wineries are being thoroughly brought up to date, and are producing fabulous, bright, fruity, fresh wines like this one from award winning Albastrele. Moldova has excellent conditions for winemaking – indeed, wines can easily be made organically, thanks to bright sunshine and biting winds that keep vines healthy, and help to produce lots of intense flavour in the grapes. Our Buyer is a champion of Moldova and certainly recommends the lemon and mineral freshness and elegance of this white. Chill down and serve with fish dishes or creamy risotto.

"Loved it. We drank this ice cold and it was perfectly crisp and dry just how we like it" Online Review
